| | Tiger’s wall was low, S.F. zoo director says
MSNBC staff and news service reports
updated 50 minutes ago
SAN JOSE, Calif. Quote: |
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, police found a shoe and blood in an area between the gate and the edge of the animal’s 25- to 30-foot-wide moat, prompting the possibility that one of the victims dangled a leg or other body part over the edge of the moat.
| I think the brothers were dangling the third victim by his ankles over the cats (to excite the cats) and the cat got out. |

The more articles I read the more its become apparant that that the tiger had targeted these 2 men, because they were three hundred yards away from the dead boy and the cat singled them out for whatever they did to provoke her. There were other people around but she went after them.
Zoos are rather pitiful places for wild animals, and some dumbass zoo visitors taunt and tease caged animals for fun. Wasn't so fun for these three, though. |

| | | Ever hear of tranquilizers?
To shoot an animal down in that situation is just ludicrous. Everything could've been handled much better than it was. Don't the handlers, and "keepers" keep tranquilizers handy in the event of possibly needing them in an emergency?
That beautiful, and magnificent animal never asked to be placed there in the first place. No matter if she was taunted, or not, it is her instinct to roam, hunt, and keep herself safe from harm. I'm not saying that I have no sympathy for the individuals involved, but something was definitely awry. I surely wouldn't want a friend, or loved one put into that situation at all. Shouldn't the Zoo be responsible enough to react in a more humane manner if something goes wrong with one of the animals that they harbour?
I don't necessarily like the idea of a Zoo; however, there are some that really do have the best interest of the animal in mind while caring for them. Preserves for instance. Taking care of an animal that was shunned away from their mother, or group. The Berlin polar bear, Knut for example. Some of these instances do help an otherwise destined to be tragic end to an animal's life. That can't be such a horrible thing to offer a better alternative. Sure, ideally they ought to be able to flourish in their own enviroments; however, we as a whole have taken away a lot of the proper habitats for them. Thankfully some of these Zoo animals will never have to deal with poachers. Not everybody can be Diane Fossey for instance. |

| | | I'm so sick of hearing about this shit. When are these people gonna learn that putting wild, predatory animals into cages, no matter how lovely they THINK the cages may be, is cruel to do to the animal? Especially when you add in the humans who tease and fuck with them.
Poor Tatiana had to die for this...I think it's almost a relief for that tiger, since she was screwed up for life anyways. She already had attacked before and was clearly going insane from being in captivity.
The scene is now being treated as a crime scene, as there is enough evidence to prove that those boys went all out to provoke that poor tiger. Too late for her though...since she was murdered.
I really do believe that the real crime is capturing these animals, dragging them from their real homes/families, and forcing them to live in cages and perform for a bunch of asshole humans. |

| Zoos don't have a real good reputation. Some have been caught selling their animals to hunting ranches.

| | | well, i've been to that zoo and that exact exhibit dozens of times. and the wall is pretty high, but it's not a straight up and down wall, it's at an incline. a determined human could have climbed it, i think. i dont see why a tiger couldn't.

Beleev Dat!
Them shit disturbers were teasing the cat and her instincts took over. What kind of dumbfuck taunts a wild animal not knowing how it can react? She hunted those mutherfuckers down and taught them a lesson.
Cat: 1
Assholes: 0
Why the fuck weren't they with their families on Christmas day? Why the fuck did djwali brothers lie to the dead boys dad when he called looking for his son? Why were the djwali fucks arrested 2 months ago for being drunk in public while chasking down 2 men and kicking out windows in the backs of poleece carz?
They are bad seeds. I like how when the cat started eating the taunter djwali the little bro and friend yelled to distract the cat. But when it started eating the friend, the 2 brothers ran like little bitches.
They wouldn't even give their names or the dead guys name or why they were there. Always the sign of an innocent victim. Tiger shoudla finished them all off since she died for her sins. |

| | | Now that I have satellite radio, (and I'm sick again!), I started listening to NPR a little and it is pretty good.
Ya know what's really sad? Not too far from that zoo is "P.A.W.S." (Performing Animal Welfare Sanctuary) The wildlife preserve for circus and zoo animals who cannot be returned to the wild but had problems in captivity as performing animals. It's this gigantic place where former abused/mistreated/retired circus and zoo elephants, lions, tigers, gorillas, you name it, live in what looks like freedom because it is in wide open spaces.
It's only about an hour or so away from the S.F. Zoo, and it's one of the charities that I donate to. People like Pam Anderson and celebs like her are (or used to be) really into it.
That Tiger could've just gone there, since she had a pattern of behavioral problems instead of being murdered. Motherfuckers. I wish she would've eaten them all. I hope they get charged with something, otherwise those bastards will actually profit from the lawsuit vs. the S.F. Zoo that they're probably already discussing with their friendly ambulance chaser down the road. |

| | | I don't think she had a behavior problem, in the first instance it was ruled that the cage allowed the tiger to reach out far enough to harm the trainer, which was against regulation, and the zoo was fined. This time she was taunted be some boys that clearly did not understand how a carnivore works; sees food-eats food. These animals don't really show compassion for anyone, even their life long trainers can turn into food if the animal gets hungry, irritated, bored...ect.
Zoos are, for the most part, poorly monitored and employed places. Look at the zoo keeper who is just now coming forward with the info that the tiger enclosure’s wall was too short...any worthy, lucid employee would know that sitting on that kind of information is a bad idea. |

I knew I put it wrong. I never thought it was a behavior problem on her part either. Even if the Tiger WAS deemed a behavioral "problem", what would they expect? What these zoos do to these animals is totally against their nature. Of course they would be a bit neurotic to say the least. It's cruel.
This is random, but I remember when I was about 11-12 or so, we went to this place in Irvine, CA called "Lion Country Safari" where you could drive your car through this preserve/zoo type place and all these animals were just roaming around. There were lions, giraffes, tigers, you name it....just hanging out, like you were in Africa or something and we were in our car driving amongst them!
Well, my dad, who had the beer in the car and the whole nine yards, was like trying to get them to come right up to us. He wasn't hurting or taunting them to be nasty. He just REALLY wanted to see them, and he would roll down the window, which was against the rules, and wave his arm out w/food and shit and call over these wild animals!!
We got kicked out when this gorilla(?) came over and started beating on the hood of our car and yelling at my dad. Scarier than shit.
Did anyone else ever go there? It was a big thing in the '70's until it got shut down. |

| | | What can everyone learn from this AwFuL tragedy?
We learned that no one should mess with cat, kitty etc...
They did not have to kill the cat. The cat is innocent... That cat was just doing what any cat would do... | |
