As far as this wild fire is concerned, it's damn bad. But what gets me personally is as I've read the news stories in the past few days (the way the main reuters news stories come into my isp, it allows for user posts afterwards), I notice all of these numb-nuts post their patheticly, insipidly, jealous, and cold views like, "oh well J. Aniston, and so, and so can go feck off, they can afford many houses all over the place," or this one, "God is bringing his judgement to Hollyweird," etc, etc...

Anyways, no amount of money can replace what one's amassed over time, someone's home where they have their very sanctitiy, especially away from the hoarding paparazzi like some of the people effected. Memories, clothes, family pictures, pets, etc...

When I was a kid we lost our house to a fire from a faulty electrical connection, on Christmas day no less as well. Luckily we weren't home, at some party, and it so happened that just a few doors down the county fire chief was a neighbour, but it was too late. When you start over from scratch it doesn't matter who you are, and it's very unfortunate for anyone. I don't live with fear, but if I had any, it would be for something like that to never occur. It's a mess right now, yet all the general population can offer is asinine commentary.

There is no FEMA here. You see, we don't need FEMA. We can take care of ourselves. Just like the folks in Buloxi. We don't run around sniveling and squealing, "Somebody do something!" We know government is not the answer.

The only thing government can do right now is to try and save as many lives as they can. Then they can try to save as many structures as possible. Then try to steer the fire. But like Katrina there is absolutely nothing anyone can really do until the shit finishes hitting the fan.

You see, we are pretty independent folks here. We rely on ourselves. When we see disaster about to strike we choose to either make a stand or get the hell out of the way. We don't sit on our soft, fat, government overfed asses and do nothing, expecting government to take care of and provide for us.

What you see going on here and what you saw in New Orleans is seeing the stark differences between Conservatives and liberals. We stand strong. We don't snivel. We don't get on our knees, roll our eyes up to government and stick a hand out, then demand something be given to us.

Rich or poor, regardless of color, it is about strength of character. Something leftists haven't a clue on how to understand.
