You won't ever hear a Northern Irish politican talk about sex in the future, either, for as long as the political divide is along Catholic/Protestant. There is a general consensus across the divide that young people should not be allowed to enjoy safe sex. That's why there was a huge campaign against the Brook Clinics opening a centre in Belfast a few years back. Because communities are tied to dogmatic interpritations of Christian treatise by "leaders". It's no coincidence the leader of the DUP is the "Rev." Ian Paisley MP.
Check out Eamonn McCann. I'll photocopy and mail you the article in question (about Brook) to you if you like. From a review: Quote: |
Take the article about the bigots who united to oppose the setting up of a Brook family planning clinic for young people in Northern Ireland. On the one side are ranged an unholy alliance of 'the Roman Catholic church, the Free Presbyterian church, the Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child, the Orange Order, the Democratic Unionist Party, the Knights of Columba, the Official Unionist Party and Opus Dei'. What they have in common 'is that young people mustn't be allowed to enjoy sex'. But as McCann so sensibly writes, 'My own impression is that most people in the North, Catholic and Protestant, don't differ much from their contemporaries in the South or across the water in their attitude to sex. They want an active sex life, they want to enjoy it, they don't want to worry about pregnancy, VD or Aids.'
| AFAIK, in Northern Ireland as in Great Britain, Sex Ed is a municipal issue. It was on the National Curriculum before that got abolished. |

Do these women actually exist, or are they a tool for pro-lifers? Because as far as I know most doctors won't allow mor than 3 abortions, and prostitutes use condoms because no abortion gets rid of HIV. |

well I've seen cases of women having 13 abortions or more because they can't be bothered to use a condom and they don't want too. And they are real cases, like I know of them first hand.
Oh, and the case about the 13 abortions happened in Miami. The woman is from Miami. She's NOT a prostitute, just an evil cunt.
