Why exactly are drugs illegal again?

We've all been raised with the mirage that drugs are "bad" and "kill you", but for those who have used them recreationally, most of us know that they are not "bad" and will not "kill you" unless you are weak & can't control yourself.

I just find it strange that people have the right to arrest other individuals for what they put in their body. I mean, that's absolutely crazy. Who are they to tell us what to not put in our body?

What are they gonna do next? Ban alcohol? Prevent us from drinking coffee? Stop manufacturing cigarettes?

I just want to know the background on the banning of drugs. It just doesn't fully make sense to me. I'm sure there are some good reasons, but I'm sure I won't be too convinced.

People who are addicted beyond their means are more likely to commit a crime to fund their habit.
LSD use in the long term.....well, maybe some people enjoy their psychosis and flashbacks. Yes, lets make an abundant legal supply. It totally makes sense, compared to the milder shit they wont even give you without a prescription at the chemist.

But that's really only when you do LSD when you're not balanced or feeling well. If you do it while feeling like shit you're said to have a shit time and you could be scarred. So I could see why it would be dangerous. People trying to get away from shit feelings only to have that side of themselves amplified and twisted.

I drink alcohol more than I smoke weed and my friends smoke a lot of weed. I'm doing more harm to myself than they're doing to themselves, but I doubt I'll be as unhealthy as someone who did heroin or K.

Do a web search on the Harrison Act.

There is also a documentary series on the history of different drugs thats still on in repeats on VH1. Go to their site and see when the series is being replayed. It was on again last week.

'they' give you the drugs and then 'they' put you in jail for it. 'they' control the supply to control you. 'they' make you pay for it time and time again. it's like a tax for stupid people!

grow your own weed and stay low key if you really need to get high, at least that way you're not paying stupidity tax unless you get caught.

I have always wondered why 800mg ibuprofen is prescription, when you can just buy a box of Motrin off the shelf and take 4.

Or, why are allergy meds such as Zyrtec prescription-only in the US?

Drugs are illegal because they turn people into arseholes. That's what I like to think, anyway. They're just protecting us from a world full of arseholes.

So maybe they should ban football and the UK too.

Why is stuff like the lotions you use for excema and some lotions that you use to treat swelling and poison ivy prescription? Like seriously... what are you gonna do with lotion? You can't get high off it.

Basically the government cant control it. And that's what they want. The government wants to make money off of you, while you druggies kill yourselves. They are the masters of the puppets, normally, hence the reason why cigarettes are legal, despite the fact they probably do more harm to people then pot would, for instance. At least on a wider scale they do. But they control that, so it's all good. They control the tobacco companies.
They cant stop people from obtaining their own fixes from "under the table" so to speak, which is why drugs are illegal. They pretend to act as if they care for their citizens welfare though, and will say drugs are bad for you(which they are) but that's not their main reason, they just cant profit from the stupidity of the public in the way they do with cigarettes and alcohol.

Drugs are illegal because the so-called "War on Drugs" is so fucking successful!!

Yep! Those trillions that we spend every year in that "war" has made those companies and their stockholders who supply the government with their weapons against their "enemies" (who are still yet to be determined), rich beyond their wildest dreams and in the meantime, pot dealers are doing crazy harsh sentences and addicts are clogging up prisons, but thank GOD for that War on Drugs!!

Until the government/big $$$ figures out a way to make more $$$ legalizing drugs than "fighting" them, they will remain illegal.

I'm resisting the urge to neg rep you for this because I'm sure you're just saying it out of ignorance.

Well, they already tried banning alcohol and it was every bit as successful as banning drugs. I think you should spend less time doing drugs and more studying history.
