VT Gun Control Debate

Do you think that Virginia Tech could have been avoided through more regulations? It amazed me how instantaneously people of importance were picking sides, and the gun control lobby started gearing up for another push in their favor. While it is sad that all this happened practially before the blood was dry, it does open up another debate on the subject that will probably be debated forever. Those of you that know me know where i stand, but this isnt about that. This is about whether or not this could have been prevented by more stringent laws regarding guns.

It was also happening before the blood was spilt.

It is obviously one of the many factors in the equation.

they recently enacted a gun ban on campus i think
somepeopleare saying if college kids couldve had guns they couldve taken him out
but college kids with guns?
thats scarier
haha

but the "right to bear arms" is about protection from violent external coercive control and tyrannical govts not your neighbours neccesarily
as alot of citizens seem to be confused about

im for guns cos i need one to protect myself from the pigs when it comes to that
nurtured ignorance and stupidityas a vested interest for external control to justify itself
is the real issue hear and focus is always misdirected and guns always aimed at the wrong people

its a confusing issue as all are
cos both sides have their points and both sides are easily exploitable and used for butt-eviiiiiiiiiiilllllllllllllllllllll

to the best of my knowledge it has been illegal to carry guns on campus for quite some time whether you have a concealed weapons permit or not. I do have to somewhat agree with you fagarielina in regards to tyrranical gov. etc. but there was also a time when it was known that if you ****ed with someone you were probably gonna die. I myself am a bit torn. In an ideal world gun control wouldnt be a slippery slope, and it would work the way its supposed to. There is no reason for anyone to own a gatling gun, but like i said... slippery slope

In a word: Yes. It could have been prevented. Its insane to argue against tighter regulation of fire arms. But I've gone over this with you before. We'll never agree on this.
