A 27 year year old man has been locked in quarantine since last July in an area the hospital uses for sick prisoners.
The patient contracted a rare form of TB that is resistent to drugs. He refused to take medical precautions to protect the public from his disease so the county health officials got a court order to involuntarily lock him up in quarantine after he was see in public coughing without a safety/health mask.
The man lived in russia for 15 years and when he was diagnosed he came to the United States hoping for better treatment.
Daniels said he realizes now that he endangered the public. But "I thought I'd come to a country where I'd finally be treated like a person, and bam, here I am." It bothers me that he is complaining about this country's treatment of him when he came here and put people at risk. What the hell did he expect?
