Zoos generally lie to the public about it. When a news magazine here broadcasted a story about this, the zoos got upset and denied they sell any animals to hunting ranches. If this was something that the public should already realize and accept, the zoos wouldn't have such a hissy fit when a news organization broadcasts it nationwide. Unfortunately the public, while they may think its terrible that zoos do this, soon forget about the matter.

i dunno i guess the whole idea of animal cruelty is somewhat twisted to the extreme. people go through their normal happy lives and dirty gritty things get swept under the carpet. i dont think its healthy. i dont think animal rights groups (or alternative political movements for that matter) are doing well simply because they cannot connect to the public. noone likes to hear the truth. noone likes the extremes. thats just sad. to me when you see a cute puppy at pet shops, you go and look and go oooh and appreciate the cuteness but to me you also SHOULD understand that petshops are ridiculously cruel. can i understand this, be against it and still be able to go oooooh look at the cute puppy and actually enjoying seeing those puppies? yes i can. its just life, isnt it.

dunno if it made sense. bah im tired.

Knut was never supposed to be killed. it was a hoax, launched by the Bild-Zeitung, the most unreliable newspaper in Germany.

You know, I'm not anti-huntiing when its either for food or to control
a population (i.e.white tailed deer in the U.S.) but its impossible for me
to respect someone who would blow away a tame animal and call that hunting. And people should see real ,no longer cute animals.
