Liberal Leadership Race

Feel free to answer regardless of whether you vote Liberal or not.

Who do you like?
Who do you think will win?
Who would make the most awesome PM?
Who would you least like to see win?

I would love LOVE to see Hedy Fry or Carolyn Bennett win. Clearly Hedy Fry would be an awesome PM. The country would be free of cross burning, right? It's time for a woman to be PM and these two have always laid the smack down with JC and Paul Martin. They're both doctors too, which is damn impressive. I don't think either will win, but I would almost become a card carrying member just to vote for one of them.

I would puke if Joe Volpe won. But, since he won't, I hope Ignatieff doesn't win. And it's too early for me to make any predictions...

If you're not sure who's running.

Are you kidding? Gerrard Kennedy all the way. He's even moving to Quebec, his wife is french-canadian, him & his kids are all bilingual. He's moving to Quebec to demonstrate his commitment to that province. He's the only one with a shot at defeating Harper. I think the liberal leadership race with be ultimately between Ignatieff (whom I loathe) and Kennedy. And Kennedy will win, and then he'll topple Harper's weak minority.

He's going to have to, because let me tell you, people in Quebec (even the anglos) could give a fuck about Parkdale.

But you're right. I think that (among other reasons) Carolyn Bennett and Hedy Fry are out because they're too western for Ontario, and especially Quebec.

But Quebec is full of feminists. One of them should run. Every woman over 60 is secretly a raging and radical feminist. You have to love women who appreciate the gains they made for themselves.

Mayeb they don't give a fuck about Parkdale, but Kennedy started the Daily Bread Food Bank, which is damn commendable. Back in the day in Manitoba.

We DEFINITELY need a woman PM. Apart from that, I would love to see Ken Dryden win. Though politically inexperienced, he's a very intelligent and thoughtful man. He used to be the Minister of the Federal Department I worked for.

McKenna or Dryden would (have - in the former case) been the best bets for my judicial career. I'll just have to find a way to rub elbows with whoever wins.
