So, this was inspired by coming in here and yet again having to comb through all the spam threads in order to find something with actual content. At the moment, out of the 20 threads on the front page 12 of them are spam.

If you would like to see a moderator for News & Politics, then reply with something like :

YES
blah blah reasons why

If not, then:

NO
blah blah reasons why not
(that way it'll be easier to figure out numbers, unless someone with a sub wants to redo this thread into a proper poll thread)

And like I've said before, I don't necessarily mean a moderator in that they intrude too much upon conversation (except for maybe to tell people to calm down if discussion gets too heated or personal), more that they're sort of a janitor, dealing with the spam threads and moving threads that would be more appropriate in another forum.
If the yes's are greater than the no's, then I'll take this to Brooke & Jase (assuming nobody has a problem with me kinda leading the pro-mod movement). If people don't want it, then I'll drop it. But I think that we could benefit from a mod, even if they're only allowed to get rid of the spam, it'll keep things a lot tidier.

there is discussion of this in the council. someone should be given powers to mod this forum soon. for clean up of spam only.
