i used it as an excuse to get out of class. then watched hours of news coverage in the admin office.

Channel surfing in the very early hours of the morning (2-3ish?) of the 12th. Accidentally caught a glimpse of some burning towers on a Chinese language news channel, and switched over to BBC World to see the second plane fly in live! I went and woke my flatmates up.

It was about midday here, I think. I was just at home making soup. I guess I musta had the day off college or something.

I was surfing Hole.com, no lie. Saw a thread saying "omg a plane hit the world trade center", and went in and turned on CNN.

I was at high school when it happened, i didn't know at the time because no one bothered to tell us as none of the teachers turned up for lessons that afternoon because they were all watching it on tv in the staffroom. I found out when i got home, the guy who was doing our lawn was listening to the radio so i heard about it via that.

One thing I'm glad of is not having had an interweb connection at the time. If only so that I couldn't see exactly how many hours it took for the first conspiracy theory to emerge...

i was at school. my mum came and picked me up and told me a small plane had crashed into some building in new york. then we got home and saw what really happened on the news.

it was my first day of college. i turn on the tv as the first plane hit. i decided not to go to class.

the next day i remember looking at the sky and thinking that it would be the only day in my life that i would not see a plane fly overhead.

I was also dating this guy, and I went to his house to wake him up and told him about what happened. He rolled over and said to let him continue sleeping.

Actually, now I think about it, I'm not sure. If it was a "normal" noun (can't remember the word for it) you would, but if it's a proper noun you possibly don't.

The Dead Kennedys spell it <<<<<< that way, but to be honest I've always thought that looked weird myself.

I think that is correct. Is it because Kennedy is a proper noun, or because "Kennedy" is discreet? Discrete? God, it's too early in the morning for this. I ought to go to bed.

i had this kennedy plural argument before on these pages. i think this forum recurs infinitely like borges' library

i was getting ready for school, and always watch cnn while doing my makeup in the morning (even though i'm canadian) and turned it on. i was all confused, and thought "war on america? what the hell does that mean? what's going on? fuck sakes!" then started crying. i went to school and continued to watch cnn all day with the rest of my class.

I had just come home from school, turned the TV on and saw it.

I didn't really get it at first, I remember that I thought a plane had landed on a building or something until I saw some footage

i was in my last year of primary school, and found out about it on the morning of the 12th. dad woke me up and said 'today is a very important day, some really bad stuff has happened in America, lots of people have died' those words exactly. i remember thinking he was joking or something when he told me, so i went and watched tv.
then i wentto school and talked about it there all day with teachers my class and the other kids.

It took less than 24 hours for the jokes to start.
