John Couey found guilty in 9 yr old Jessica's murder.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/LAW/03/07/girl.slain/index.html

John Evander Couey was found guilty of Murder and sexual assault on 9 year old Jessica Lunsford...

I saw the trial on TV and the girls father was force to sit there in court listening to how John Couey cold bloodedly murdered his precious daughter.

John just sat drawing pictures like he does not give a fuck... John Couey showed absolutely no respect to Jessica's father.. John Couey claims he forgiven and he plans on going to heaven...

I hope the guard ignore John as he sits in prison at the mercy of the other prisoners.. I wish the other prisoners force John Couey to scatch and claw for his life. But I will not wish death to John just yet.. I hope he lives another day to suffer again and again..

John Couey should be force to live in general population without any type of protection....for the rest of his life... I do not think he will survive one year.. and just think how much money the state of Florida will save.

The death penality is just too expensive and take to dam long....
Just let John Couey loose in general population and the other prisoners will take care of him and it will be cost effective to the state of Florida...

This crime is not a White crime or a black crime its a crime against children...Some one need to figure out a way to protect children.. Children deserve the right to grow up.

If I was a prison guard and I saw someone kick John Couey face in my statement will be I did not see a thing.. I would say John are you OK...Send him back to his cell until he heals abit and then send him out to the yard again...

General population without guard protection is justice..

Prisoner in prison have it to easy....

Why the hell does the United States spend so much money protecting Criminals? WTF is wrong with these people?

Question?

What the hell was John Couey drawing with those crayons?

Couey did not show one ounce of respect.....

Ohmigosh Couey was drawing in Court as the Judge was talking.... and the judge says nothing.....

Once I had jury duty in a civil case in Florida and I just closed my eyes for five seconds and that judge got all mad a me making a big scene like I am some type of low life thug criminal.... Judge yelling I shouldn't be closing my eyes, I should not be taking so much notes... blah, blah blah...

I just lower my head and closed my eye for five seconds.. I remember because I was counting the seconds... I was tryin to take in all the information the lawyers were talking about for the last two hours...

This is not right... A criminal gets to draw pictures with crayons and that is OK... everyone saw it on the videos of the court session...

I hope he gets the lethal injection. If he doesnt, at least he will never be free again.

When ever I read her story i start to imagine this little girls ordeal and i feel so scared for her. I cant even imagine how horrible it is for her parents.

Ohmigosh that is just AwFuL because he is not going to feel any pain...

They should place John couey in the prison yard so the prisoners can kick his ass and he can suffer real pain before he slowly dies...

john couey had no pity as he place Jessica in that plastic bag he buried her alive...

Why the hell is everyone so worried about john couey suffering pain? Why the hell did the judge allow John couey to draw pictures with crayons, paints, etc during the court session? Someone should stick that pen in John couey ear and let him take it out without medical care... and let him suffer.....

but the sad fact is john couey is going to spend the rest of his life behind bars watch free cable TV, playing basket ball, eating good free food.. What kind of punishment is that? Why not send john couey to a Mexican jail? And pay Mexico $100 per year for the service.... Mexican jail has no TV's, no radios, no CD players, no DVD players, no fancy foods, no recreation facilities.... Mexican jails have absolutely nothing to pamper the prisoners....

Everyone knew he was quilty but the sad part is he is going to spend the rest of his life pampered in a secure Florida prison with free Airconditioners, Free Cable TV, Free Gym with basket ball court, free home cooked meals and so much more...

United States pay every prisoner about $50 per day to feed, house, educate, entertain and health care.

Think about this, how many good hard working Americans do not have any medical health insurance? Plenty...

Prisoners do absolutely no work thanks to the bleeding heart liberals who believe forcing criminals to work is against human rights...

Couey sentenced to die for Florida girl's murder
POSTED: 6:07 p.m. EDT, March 14, 2007
MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- Jurors on Wednesday recommended the death penalty for John Evander Couey, who was found guilty last week of kidnapping, sexually assaulting and murdering 9-year-old Jessica Lunsford.

The majority of the jury -- 10 in favor of death, 2 against it -- rendered the decision about 5:30 p.m. ET.

As the sentence was read, Couey, 48, sat in the courtroom, fiddled with his tie, and interlaced his fingers.

Jessica's father, Mark Lunsford, stared ahead while the sentence was read aloud. His face was stoic. Later, he hugged supporters and cried.

Jessica Marie Lunsford was abducted from her Homosassa Springs, Florida, home February 23, 2005. Her body was found nearly a month later, buried within sight of her own home and behind the house where Couey was staying with a relative.

She was found wrapped in garbage bags, holding a stuffed toy dolphin, her hands bound with stereo wire.

Investigators said Couey abducted Lunsford from her bedroom. Jessica died from asphyxiation after being sexually assaulted, according to a medical examiner's report.

Police arrested Couey in Georgia in March 2005 during the search for Jessica.

His confession helped lead investigators to the girl's body, but a judge ruled the confession was inadmissible in court because he had asked for a lawyer the day before he told police he committed the crime.

Evidence at the trial included Jessica's fingerprints in a closet in Couey's trailer and DNA from Jessica's blood and Couey's semen on a mattress in his bedroom.

Jessica's father appeared on CNN's "Larry King Live" recently and was asked if he hated Couey.

"Yeah, definitely. Most definitely," Lunsford said. "But that's what fuels me ... that's where I get my energy to do what I do. It's the anger."

Lunsford has led a push for stricter sex offender laws since his daughter's 2005 death.

Gov. Jeb Bush signed the Jessica Lunsford Act into Florida law. The legislation calls for prison sentences of 25 years to life for sex offenses against children under age 12, better registration of convicted sex offenders and a Global Positioning System notification mechanism to track down probation violators.

Lunsford read a statement outside the courthouse the day the verdict was handed down, asking that his daughter's death serve as a wake-up call to legislators across the country.

"We have gone through hell and come out the other side with a mission: Before the next family loses a child to America's failed system, we're going to hold lawmakers accountable for allowing this open season on our children," he said.

"We are coming to Washington. We are bringing with us a dedicated plan for a federally funded, federally strategized and nationally waged war on child predators. We will force them to listen."

Everyone knows John Couey will never be executed because he is too old. John Couey is going to live in the most secure prison with a private airconditioned room with free cable TV. John Couey will have free meals personnally delivered to his private room daily.

John Couey will have fresh fruit, fresh meat and all sorts of fine meals delivered to him...

My question is what the hell kind of justice is this????

Only in America can someone brutally kill a innocent child and then get pampered treatment for the rest of his life.... while the tax payers ignorantly pay...

OKay, I think we've gathered where you stand on this after however many posts saying the same thing. I mean, I agree with you for the most part, but it's been overstated. And you aren't alone. There are lots of people that feel like you and I do, BUT either the majority disagree or people that feel this way are lazy and do nothing to change it. If you actually feel this passionately about it, then you ought to do something REAL about it. Call a congressman or something.

ohmigosh I saw the news and I am shocked John Couey had a fancy brand new pinstripe suite...

I do not even own a suit that cost that much... Rumors swirling that John Couey was wearing a $900 suite at tax payers expense.

if you buy anything besides unprepared food (in some states; others have tax even on that), you pay taxes.

I was meaning more like income tax or property tax- a bigger chuck of tax.
So Zoan, if you pay no big ticket taxes, then you really can't bitch about their use. Do you have proof taxes bought that suit or is that someone specualting? Maybe someone bought it for him.

Who besides that American Tax payer would be stupid enough to buy John Couey a expensive suite? Paris? heh

They should allow Courtney Love to have a few words in private with John Couey... And everyone knows who will come out walking without a scratch... and the next day Courtney can just go about her business like nothing of concerned happened.
