| | | blair to outlaw public photography? A recent Government Petition has been issued to outlaw photography in the streets.
The UK Govt are about to propose restrictions on photography in public places which could make street photography and documentary photography against the law. There's a petition on the Downing St website against the Government's proposals to restrict the use of photography in public areas.
To sign up to the petition: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Photography/#detail
I can't find any more info on this though, has anyone else heard about it? |

| Kinda hypocritical given the government's love of 24 hour surveillance. |

| | | Maybe people in the public (passers-by) who walk in front of your shot cause they are not paying attention to people around them all the time, may feel violated they are on someone elses snaps? They have no control and someone else has their image. I know the out-cry of people being harrassed by camera-pone snaps in public, maybe this is the next step? Anyother reason for this petition is retarded and doesnt make sense. |

Any other reason?
I suspect, given the lack of any evidence that the original bill exists, that this is bogus, either a storm in a teacup or one of those clever marketing ploys where they make like they're going to withdraw a popular product (in this case, freedom to photograph) and then make it seem like they give a shit about our opinions when they give it back "due to popular demand". |

They recently published a story of how Chrie Blair's father is the result of a secret affair Hitler had when he visited Liverpool before coming to power. JK. |
