| I really really recommed Marcia Clark's Without a Doubt. Some people accuse her of not being objective but she talks a whole lot deal about the physical evidence and she even acknowledges lots of the mistakes she made, I thought it was very objective.
The thing is that that book is a great window into human stupidity. Our sick values. Our fear. How we simply didn't want to believe, in spite of all the evidence in the world, that this man murdered and abused this woman. People demonized everyone from Denise Brown to Dennis Fung and most notably Mark Furhman, just to get away from the fact that O.J is a murderer. I mean people didn't want to see it. It started as a murder trial and ended up being the Mark Fuhrman trial over the use of the word "nigger".
Marcia Clark mentions a GENIUS cartoon that was published during the trial, and it was a little kid watching the OJ trial on tv asking his mom, "mom, what is the forbidden N word?? and she goes like "Nicole".
I mean it was genius. The trial was about EVERYTHING except that poor woman's suffering. It's appalling. |
