I don't know if there's much about it in international news, but the headlines in the UK at the moment are focusing on Ipswich (where I live, it's normally a quiet town) and the fact that there's probably a serial killer. Two prostitutes went missing in October/November and their bodies have been found in the last week, now a third body has been found, and two other prostitutes have gone missing.
On top of this, someone was shot dead in a nightclub not far from me, two other people were shot but didn't die luckily. Apparently lots of people from London come up to Ipswich to go out, and there are drug dealers/gangs coming up here as well. Anyway, links below, I'm not used to things like this so I'm pretty scared at the moment.

I was suprised no-one else had posted about this. What is Ipswich like usually?

It's a big town, so it's not as if it's a sleepy village or anything, but there are a lot of old people and it's the sort of place that normally gets mentioned as a 'joke' on TV, lol. A few years ago Suffolk had the lowest crime rate of UK counties, I felt relatively safe walking into town at night, but in light of this I'm getting myself a bus pass.
There understandably aren't many women left who want to risk working on the streets, the police are patrolling the red light district anyway, so depending on the motives of the killer anyone could be at risk. It could be that prostitutes are only at risk because they're an easy target. One of them was the same age as me too.
The nightclub where the shooting happened apparently promote their RnB/Garage nights in London which is just asking for trouble IMO. I go to their student/rock night and there's not any real trouble on that night, but it's a crime scene at the moment and the police want it shut down after this.
