i have forever used sanitory towels,for many reasons.and ive only tried tampons once which was very unsuccessful.however,im due to go on my period(im always late)and im going away with my bf tomorrow so i thought it would make sence to try use them becuase the enviroment inwhich ill be wont be very pleasnt to use towels.
though,when ive tried to put one in(its not very big either)it reallyREALLY****ing hurts and i can only get it so far??iam relaxed so ts nothing to do with being tense.
not only this but i brought i vibrator the other day its 6"s and i can only penatrate for about 3"s untill it simple wont go any further?!

use a tampon when you're bleading heavily, then it won't hurt. and use one with light absorbation.

Maybe you should try a small one first and redlips is right, use one for the first time when you're on your period and its quite heavy because its so much easier to get in.

Try the smallest light-absorption ones you can find. Lil-lets and Tampax have some in mini size. I used the mini Lil-lets when I first started using tampons and they were very small and easy to insert.

Are you using ones with an applicator or without? I started out using ones without an applicator. As handy as applicators can be for just firing it in there at high speed, you might find it easier to attempt to insert it with your fingers, so you can see how far you can actually push it in comfortably without forcing it.

You say you're not tense but I suspect you possibly are without realising it! Not to freak you out, but there's this condition called vaginismus which can cause the vaginal muscle to contract involuntarily, and it can contract to the point where it refuses to let anything in very far. It could be possible that you're suffering from that. Unfortunately, the more you think about how painful or uncomfortable it is to have something in there, the more it's going to happen!

I promise you, it will go in further if you really relax. Your vagina is almost certainly longer than the three inches of vibrator you've been able to get in there. It's most likely the width that's causing the trouble. It's designed to have a baby come out of it at some point, so there is definitely going to be room in there for a tampon!

And as someone mentioned, the best time to attempt it is when your flow is at its heaviest. You'll be a bit slidier then, for lack of a better way to put it.

And remember, you're wanting to aim slightly towards your back, rather than straight upwards.
