| I have thoracic scoliosis (slight, but very painful), plus a bone spur and some degeneration. After carrying a child for 9 months, my scoliosis was aggrivated to the point of having trouble getting up in the morning, not to mention constant pain all day long (painkillers killed the edge, not the pain). Last year, I went to a chiropractor 2x a week for a month, and once a week for a month after that. It definitely doesn't hurt to get adjusted. It loosened me up.
The best thing to do after visiting a chiropractor is to stretch and exercise and maintain a balanced diet. I can't stress this enough. Yoga or pilates is really helpful - pilates is good for strengthening the back (as you strengthen your stomach, which supports the back *remember this*). I also cycle everyday for 30 - 40 minutes. You've got to keep your body moving.
Getting adjusted helps, but won't correct scoliosis.
But you can definitely manage your condition with diet and exercise |
