Laser eye surgery

Anyone had Lasik or anything like that? How did it go? Were you happy with the results? How much did it cost?

I have morbidly bad eyesight and have contemplated surgery also. One factor that's preventing me from doing it (besides expense, etc), is that I actually like the way the world looks through my blurry vision (even though I can't read signs, recognise people on the street, etc, because I can only be arsed wearing my glasses for school, computer and TV).

i really want lasik surgery, but the only way ill be getting it would be through extreme makeover. meh. now i have the next best thing: 24 hour lenses.

its so damn expensive (surgery that is)... but the thought of the money ive used on lenses and glasses over the years is scary.

What are 24 hour lenses like?

I'm short sighted and i have an astigmatism. I hate wearing glasses, i have a pair but i only wear them around the house. If i'm going out i wear my contacts. I can't remember my prescription but my vision is pretty bad. It's just such a pain in the arse. People who are 20/20 or close to it don't know how lucky they are.
