You're over-analyzing this.... it's just an std test. They will explain everything to you at the doctor's. Whether or not you've ever had an std test before makes no difference. You'll get your results and that will be the end of it.

I get tested every summer, even though I haven't had sex in a year.

It's always a good idea ... the tests won't be accurate if you've had sex in the last six months, though.

I feel good knowing that if I were to get married, I'd be able to look my fiance in the eye and say I've been tested, and that all my tests came back negative.

Good for you for getting tested!! You'll be glad you did, no matter what. Life's always better to deal with head-on. I've known people who have STD's and just act like they don't, still sleeping around and stuff. NOT COOL. It's always better to realize what's happening, get treatment, and tell your partners if you're going to get down & dirty with 'em.

Hey, I don't have any advice, I just wanted to say that I think it's really a great thing that you're an eighteen year old female wanting to get tested for STD's and HPV. That's really awesome considering some of the girls I graduated high school with thought they were immune to sperm. Woo hoo for you! Don't worry about the gyno, it's not so awful at all.
