Anything that gets your heart rate up and gets you moving, will help with weightloss.

When my husband was in college, his parents still had their trampoline in their back yard, and when he'd go home during the summer, I spent a lot of time there, and a lot of time jumping on that trampoline everyday after work....and did no other excercise (Sp? I always screw that one up), and I was really fit.....so, I'd say, yes, trampolines are a fun way to lose weight When we buy a house, I plan to put a trampoline in the back yard, cause I love them, and I'm 29....I don't even care

Trampolining is a very effective way to burn calories. Unlike running, it's easy on the joints as the trampoline absorbs most of the impact of the excersise. Trampolining can help maintain good body allignment and proportion.
I'd love a trampoline of my own. I love the feeling of jumping on a trampoline. That short-lived flexibility makes me feel like a little kid again. My friend has a very big trampoline, with high plastic walls, and we spent last Halloween night jumping up and down watching the fireworks. It was lovely. When I jump into the air, I feel like I'm jumping out of my life and leaving all my troubles behind, it's euphoric.

It's a really good way to launch into an uncontroled flip onto the railing and land on your back. Of course, that was off the roof of the house and the trampoline was on a slope.
