I've been seeing my GP every two weeks since the end of July about it, andbeen admitted to hospital three times on related issues. They don't seem to have many answers for me. I start CBT in a couple of weeks as well.

On the plus side, I did a lot of travelling round last week to see various.family members at christmas, and it passed without incident, pretty much.

I don't think doxy would be the root of this because the drug has a very short half-life, so would have been totally cleared from your system by that stage. It does however kill gut bacteria, which can reduce the absorption of other drugs- so if you are on anything else, you should check their side effects for what happens with withdrawal- the doxy may have been inhibiting absorption and now you are getting withdrawal from those drugs?

See your GP though- they should be able to offer some advice that isn't anti-depressants. In the mean time you could try some herbal anti-anxiolytics like Valerian if you'd rather go the natural route.

My GP was a bit upset at the fact another doctor prescribed Doxy when I have a bad stomach problem anyway and am taking Domperidone for that. She said she couldn't rule out the possibility of the 2 medications contraindicating each other due to the trouble I have with my stomach. I have been reading up about the symptoms I am experiencing and it really does sound like panic disorder with intrusive thoughts. Apparently, I will need CBT in order to stop the intrusive thoughts turning into OCD. I am currently taking St John's Wort but it does not feel as though it is working. The doctor has said she would try me on 5-HTP next. I really want to try all the herbal/natural things first before going on prescription meds. I have read that 5-HTP with B vitamins and Inositol may help me out. I am really scared. I hate having these intrusive thoughts about wanting to harm the people I love and care for. I know I am a good person and would never do anything to harm anyone which is why these thoughts are haunting me.

How long have you been on the domperidone for? Could be a result of that- the way it stops you feeling sick is by acting against dopamine receptors, theoretically it doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier, so it shouldn't affect your neurochemistry, but if there are no other triggers it might be worth asking your doctor if it could be related to that.

I have been on Domperidone for 2 years. I was totally fine up until I finished that course of Doxycycline. It has me really worried and I'm scared this might affect my relationship with my partner and I am scared that it won't ever go away.
