But I called my boss and lied. I woke up late and dreaded going in late so I phoned him and said I'm having car trouble. Like I couldn't say my kid is sick or something better.
So he told me "No problem Theresa, I'll swing by and get you. But I'm up in Oakland right now. Just give me about an hour." I asked are you sure? He says "Of course, I don't mind. That's what I'm here for" So cheerful and sweet... Great it's going to be an interesting day. I can't even call in sick properly. At least I'll save money on gas....

i need a mental health day soon. i'll call in with a migraine - my boss knows i get them bad and the only time i am not at work is if i have a migraine. i came in with pneumonia twice.

My job doesn't allow sick days unless you're severely feverish or hosplitalized. That mentality, itself, makes me need a mental health day...
