Did they bother to check for kidney stones? That kind of pain sounds awful familiar.

well, be open to trying something other than just what they won't give you /what you are requesting
be open to trying something not so strong and doesn't cause liver problems
also yeah you can get mad and demand to see a different dr that will give you something to try to take at least the edge off though it will not really give you the relief you need/want it will be better than nothing
eventually you learn to live with pain if it is everyday at the same level
then you only need to medicate when you have a time that the pain gets worse than the normal everyday

i know that may sound shitty to you, because if even if you are predisposed to getting addicted it doesn't make your pain any less real. that's why i recommended being as honest as possible with your doctor. if they suspect you are lying about anything, they will suspect you are lying about the pain, too. the scary thing about oxy is that when you have pain, sometimes your brain will make you think the pain is worse than it really is; the pain becomes a way to rationalize taking the drugs. i would honestly tell the doctor about the "recreational" drinking and pot smoking. if you are honest your doctor will trust and respect you more and be willing to discuss different solutions to your issues rather than just saying no when you ask for oxy and dismissing your complaints about pain. i know you said you have partied recreationally only, but you must realize that self-medicating with booze (with a liver condition?) and pot is not the answer to your health problems. that's not recreational. do not withhold information from your doctors and they will be able to help you better. granted, some doctors are assholes and it can be tempting to exaggerate or lie to make them hear you, but it's better to just switch to another doctor that listens and respects you enough to tell you what they are thinking.
I just have to say you have actually been very rational and really helpful in this situation so thanks. I couldn't change doctors though because I've seen the same one since I was a child and have a great respect for him.
It's not as though I could go to some stranger doctor and demand opiates and honestly it's not in my nature to do so I already feel like a junkie just asking him for them..I guess I'm just going to have wait and keep doing my tests and just suck up the pain in the meantime...Honestly it's the not knowing whats really wrong that is troubling me..I feel like a medical experiment being poked and proded!
but such is life ehh!! anyway thanks again

btw it is not kidney stones either and the pot smoking was kinda a one off thing I only got some off a friend cause i thought it may help with the pain..aside from that I haven't touched the stuff in years and dont intend to again because if anything i think it actually made me more paranoid and aware of the pain..

oxy is very addictive so be careful with that shit. my brother is addicted to it and he suffers horrible withdrawls from it.

keep going back to your doctor and be honest with them, don't bullshit or you could be branded a pill chaser and they'll monitor everything you get.

i saw a neurologist for my migraines and he wrote me off as a pill chaser rigth away and prescribed vitamins. i ended up seeing another doctor who has been able to help out and when reviewing my charts questioned the neurologist and what he gave me.
