Hello G & C, so glad to hear you are on the road to good mental health! It may be rocky at times so try not to gauge everything in terms of "black" and "white" during recovery. At any given moment, you're a work in progress so don't set yourself unrealistic goals - there will be days you feel like shit but that doesn't mean you should chuck the towel in, just try to ride it out. There's a hell of a lot of wisdom in that mantra "and this too shall pass" - if you repeat it often enough, it will help buoy you.

I went on a holiday this entire summer..... especially since I feel for me personally (not for everyone) there was more cons than pros of being on medication.... though... I am probably going back on anxiety medication sometime in the near future if I can not control my anxiety/anxiety filled thoughts/not being able to sleep because I think my heart will stop/ lots of little anxiety related things......but one pill is a lot different from what I've been on in the past...

My mother, who has had extreme problems with mental illness for years, is now only on lithium and one or two other low doses (for her) of medication... which is a big difference.... she is now taking lots of b-vitamins and supposedly exercising. Exercising is supposedly great for people with mental illness... never tried it =P

Anywho, it's nice to hear someone feels sane =]

Exercising is wonderful for people with depression. I feel naturally high whenever I do it!!

Hope things work out for ya.

I'm really happy for you! I have had clinical depression my entire life and my daughter is Bipolar I with mania and like you, has also come a long ways in learning how to manage everything.

I also realize that on the part of the person suffering, getting to the point where you are now at takes a lot of work and not every day is easy when you are in the middle of it, so kudos to you for hanging in and doing so well. That is awesome and I wish you much happiness. You certainly deserve it!!

So does everyone else in this thread who is in the same boat for that matter. Bipolar people hold a special place in my heart and I have nothing but respect and appreciation.
