i decided i'm going to tell them i was on xanax for a while and felt better on that but lied b/c i thought the shit in my past was irrelevant to this/didnt want to think about it

b/c i already said i've never taken anything

and that i also am willing to take other types of similar benzos but they're the only thing that ever worked.

i will use the vistiral for being delusional when i am bored

i always lie to the doctors to get what i know works for me. do some research and develop some symptoms.

i take oxazepam, which is a light(ish) benzo.

totally depends on the doc, but I would tell the truth. Docs can see right thru the lying, and when they do catch you, they figure that you are just drug-seeking.

Well generally the strategy for treating anxiety is benzos for a few weeks tapered off when the SSRI they have been making you take at the same time kicks in.

They aren't going to want to give you benzos alone because they will see that as a short-term non-sustainable fix which is liable to lead to addiction problems.

So if you actually want the benzos you'd be better off coming in with some LONG TERM ideas about what you want and then you can add on "and can I have something to calm me down in the meantime whilst I wait for the long term drugs to kick in".

If you don't like SSRIs, ask for a tricyclic antidepressant (amitriptyline or imipramine), which have anti-anxiety effects or buspirone (which works slightly differently to SSRIs). That way you sound like you have given this proper research etc. And those drugs might actually sort you out in the long term.
