| | | The TV show Intervention on A&E Anyone watch?
I think they go way too far. Like one week they kept showing this girl huffing on areosol computer cleaner over and over again. Same with over showing of bloodied arms from needle poking, different ways of smoking hard stuff like with foil or other ways. One southern lady was popping these Vodka bottles tiny ones. It was my favorite episode besides the ladyt this season that fell and snoked in her garage and had her eyes roll in back of her head.
I love the music too all throughout. The Tubular bells and orchestra parts are great and the song at the end in bittersweet.
The need to do a Celebirty Edition, I think everyone should email A & E network and request Courtney Love. She just may do it too shes sunk so low. Plus its a public service anoucnement too regardless of the overshowing of many different drug uses.
Anyone watch? |

| | | I saw the split show with the alcoholic mother (HATED her) and the anorexic woman. The people are so melodramatic it'd make you think the whole thing's staged. I also saw the one with Kim the anorexic. 'Twasn't as bad as the first one but the whole televised intervention thing pisses me the whole way off anyway.
I haven't seen anything extreme/controversial like you mentioned tho. |

| | | Hmmm Maybe its edited in Ireland I dont know cause I see alot of grahic stuff when I watch. (Its on tonite inn the states but think its back to repeats)
I just think that showing a huff on a aresol can a couple of times is OK or shooting up once or twice OK but Intervention shows it too much. Its almost like they are trying to desenstize the audience. Also in some ways it promotes drug use.
Who knows how many people went to the office supply store to get an aresol can of computer cleaner the next day after the episode. I wouldnt try that for the world. Who knows how many chemicals besides Tulene was in it. Ill stick to the bottom of the ReddiWhip whip cream nitrixe oxide. That girl doing the huffing did not look good at all.
I agree with the posters above. I think they stage some of the stuff, or find really dramamtic people and also cant believe they let them drive all the time. Sure being high on some substances you can drive, but still they shouldnt be promoting driving while on anything.
Everyone shoot an email to A&E saying you love the show but want to see a celeb like C.Low on it since they havent had a celeb edition yet.
I know a few of you have so keep the emails cming to A&E! |

| | | I haven't watched Intervention for a while actually.
It's a good show and all, but you would think with how popular it's become that they would need a new trick to get addicts on it. I mean, if I was an addict and someone came up to me asking if I wanted to be in a documentary, I'd be like, "Fuck off assholes! I know you're from Intervention!"

| | | oh i love this show.. i coulda sworn there was already a thread on this show. That show's so addicting..... no pun intended.
I hate the endings when the people finally give in to rehab and everybodys all positive... Then at the very end of the show they have the updates and they're like TOM ESCAPED FROM REHAB AFTER TWO WEEKS AND IS NOW LIVING IN THE STREETS, STILL ADDICTED TO HEROIN. |

| | | I watched it last night. A man refused to eat until he got his liquor. So his g/f would ration out his liquor. His family was scared that he would drink and drive so they would bring over his booze. The mom came over with two Mickies in a paper bag. His brother then arrived with Southern comfort. |

You can tell they just go because their loved ones are threatening to not give them money and what not anymore. I bet most of them time when they excape their family goes back to supporting their habit just like before.
It would be a tough place to be though. I think if it were my dad (who is an alcoholic) who was one of the people who left rehab early, I wouldn't be able to carry my threats out either. I'd rather have him at home drinking than drinking himself to death in some crack shack somewhere.
It's too bad that there's no miracle cure for addiction.

Anyone remember the girl who was a meth addict and she was like all delusional and a total psychopath? Her family were saints for putting up with her at all? |

| | | I wish they'd show somebody with a good job and a good relationship who functioned better on drugs, but their family was worried about them anyway so they called intervention. theyd show the person seeming normal and saying "yeah i just function better when i take these painkillers. man, is withdrawal a bitch though! i'm super cranky when i run out! haw haw haw. life is good, though!"
and they enter a rehab and their follow up story is: as soon as he left rehab, he had problems showing up to work on time and getting along with his loved ones. he has cut off contact from his family, and decided to quit his job as senior creative executive, now providing janitorial services for an elementary school. we tried to approach him, but he chased us away with a mop and started screaming about the "godamned sorry state of the government".

She was ccrraazzyyy! She would like run around naked and thought she was a god. I'd like to read all that crap she wrote, not that I'd be able to make sense of any of it.

| | | I'm addicted to this show! haha, ironic!
the one with the aerosol huffin girl (Alisson) was the best show ever. "It's like I'm walking on sunshine!!!" and when she refers to the police officers in her room as the "popo". hahaha. awesome.
I loved the one with Sylvia, the southern lady/ex soap actress as well... she was so dramatic "where are mah babies????!!!". and when she kept on falling over.
I have my doubts about how real the show is though, but it's still really entertaining! |
