and just for the record, i don't even believe in ADD, really. i certainly don't believe in giving pills to little kids unless it's going to keep them from dying. if you don't want yr kids to be hyperactive, don't give them sugar and don't let them watch too much tv.

There is truth in science. There is no science in the Indigo Children stuff.

Yeah, me neither. I don't really believe in personality disorders in general. I like to think that people diagnosed with ADD are not disordered, they just have common personality traits.

I do think that there is some credibility to the theory in that people with "ADD" have been around for a long time and, just like any other personality type, they have contributed to getting us where we are now. There is a case to be made for the use of medication inhibiting humanity from progressing because it can supress the positive personality traits people have to offer.

my brother has ADHD... he sells his ritalin to his mates for the "nuzz" as he calls it... as it makes him all lazy and drained! hes doing good business... £4 a pill!

I do have ADD, I was diagonsed last year, and I've always had problems with the education system, everyone always kept telling me I could do better and I was smart, and I know I am smarter then a lot of people around me, I don't mean to sound arrogant, but I live in the midwest, in a small town in Indiana. There are a bunch of ignorant, redneck people and I just can't tolerate it.

I eventually had to be taken out of school and I'm now homeschooled. It's much easier and a lot better, and I'm just a much more happy person then when I was in school.

I get the whole "smart but lazy thing" from people.I think can just vomit information to get by and appear smart tho . I'm in college and I have tons of trouble staying on task. I sometimes wonder if I have ADD, I just kinda refuse to seek any "help." My older sis exhibits the same qualities.

I often see ADHD advocacy commercials and this little kid goes "Some day I will disrupt conventional thinking!"

One of the tenants in my building would use ritalin right before he was about to write a paper/read books for class.
