Like, if you are bipolar, have clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, even alcoholism...what age were you when the symptoms reared their ugly heads to the point that you and/or others really noticed?

I have ocd and I knew something about me was different from the age of about 7, but it wasn't diagnosed until I was in my 20s because no one around me knew or recognised the symptoms. That's why raising awareness is so important, so help can be given earlier.

Are you worried about a young relative? My brother-in-law is autistic and you could tell from the age of about 5 that something was up.

developed anorexia at age 11, pretty much been ill since then. depression, anxiety and suicidal tendencies showed up around 17.

hmm i don't know. i mean i guess there was always weird stuff. i lied constantly when i was about five. and that was probably also about the time i walked straight into a lake.

I always kept to myself. Even at 3 years old my mom would pick me up from preschool and I'd be playing by myself alone in a corner somewhere. But the real obvious mental issues started when I hit puberty at around 12. I developed severe depression. And at 17 I developed an anxiety disorder.
