Drug Testing

If you're pretty sure you're gonna show up positive for something in a physical...
Is it better to just tell the doctor when they ask? Or better to deny and just say it was something you ate?
Or can the doctor not tell anyone anyway because of confidentiality policy? Or will they tell your insurance? What if you're on someone else's insurance at the time of the testing?

hmmm well when i applied for a job and the freaking pills i took to pass the test didnt work, i had to talk to a doctor on the phone about my results. he just said "you came back positive, do you know why?" and i made up some bullshit story about how i used to hang out with "the wrong crowd" and have since stopped and am trying to get my life back together, or something like that. all he said was "thanks for being honest with me" and that was that. im not sure about the insurance thing though.
