Anyone have it? I might be getting it if upping my abilify this last time doesnt' work. I was good for so long (about 2 years) that having to deal with this again is killing me.

Having to deal with my mental problems scares the hell out of me.

swept_away is on a distinguished road
No personal experience...

A friend of mine had it to treat depression; it didn't really help, and she forgot a lot of stuff. Of course, she has a tendency to conveniently forget things she does that she doesn't want to own up to, and that was a particularly bad time for her, so I figure at least some of it was selective memory loss.

But I was in the hospital with a girl who had it and ECT just worked absolute wonders for her. It was like she was a whole other person.

So I guess it's like any other treatment.... works for some, doesn't for others?

For every good experience you hear about, you'll hear five people who say it ruined their lives. It's pretty much extinct over here now.
