hey! report any harassing threads. it helps us lots to have clues as to where harassment may be. its hard going in each and every thread and analysing the flow of conversation. i think im missing a bunch of stuff.

what about tough love or whatever, where do you draw the line?

it depends on the situation. i try and be as fair as possible. ive been watching for a while and there are a few people who come in to ahrass people and those i throw out, but with reported posts, i try and look to see what transpired in the thread in particular, rather than sort out any history, if that gives you any clue?

Good question. I think it's a matter of being firm versus mean. For example, if a person continually talks about taking his or her own life, you might respond with advice or ask if he or she is attention seeking for a different reason, etc. If you respond with "Just do it" that's something I personally will delete as it is not constructive just provocative.

just an idea but should we like make a list of suicide hotlines and counselling hotlines that are available?
I've seen it on other message boards in the mental health section and think it's a great idea... if evceryone adds numbers from thier own countries or websites or whatever.

I think that's an excellent idea. I will have time on Monday and will do this.
