Have you checked the Yellow Pages? No, I'm serious -- in most cities of any size at all, or with one or more area universities & hospitals, there is a pretty damn cool thing called "Physician Finder Service". It's listed as such in the Yellow Pages, I kid you not.
Another thing, also in ye goode olde Yellow Pages, there are all these adverts for the various local practices, both general and specialized. They almost always list the names of the docs within that practice, and some of the offices have a very high ratio of female physicians & P.A.s. The one I've gone to for 20 years (!!) currently has a ratio of 6 females and one male (and one male P.A.). heh. It's great!
Please get yourself seen to soonest, hg. This sounds like nothing to mcuk around with, and even if it turns out to be something pretty simple, it sounds very painful and upsetting/disorienting.
Just remeber; You're interviewing any potential new doctor:
You are screening someone who is in actaulity gonna be your employee. I actaully have 2 docs who really
get that; they're rare as blue diamonds, but they're out there.
Much luck & <3,
Chyia, crossing fingers for you
