What TO DO When A Spouse Loses A Parent

My husband recently lost his father. Prior to this, he and I were in marriage counseling an dnow I fear things are worse. I don't know how to help him or what to do. We're fighting non-stop and I cannot seem to do anything right. Anyone have any xperience or help?

I'm really sorry
It must be really hard for him. Maybe he's trying to cope with his loss in his own way.
I'd say just be there for him for when he needs you. And try not to argue back. I know it's hard but he must be going through shit right now

I hope things get better for you <3

He needs bereavement coucelling and drop the marriage councelling for a few months until he gets over this. Try and avoid confrontation/fights/problems in the mean time even if it means avoiding him unless he looks to you for comfort over his loss.

her miranda, sorry to hear this.
I've only got experience of being on the other end of this, I was in quite a rocky relationship and my dad died. My boyfriend at the time told me when I phoned him up after just finding out that he thought I didn't care then he worried that he might interfere with our plans and when he got drunk he told me my dad was most likely in hell. So I can only really offer a what-not-do-for-dummies and I don't think you are one.
Is there anyway you could call a kind of break on arguing for a bit and just be kind friends to each other? Good luck.

Thank you. I have tried to remember the "it's not me, it's the situation," but things were not so swell before, so it's hard to tell. I started a new part time job last week, so I can be away some days and I think I will make myself busier, with an eye always toward him and his needs. It is difficult as I am extremely open with my emotions, him- not so much. I will play it by ear. If anyone thinks of anything else, please share. I hope it's okay if I vent again.

Mir
