i had some vaccinations today because i'm going to china and my arm is really painful now and it's getting worse. whenever i move it, it hurts like hell

how can i make it better, will ice help? or do i just have to wait?

today, cool compresses. starting tomorrow, if it still aches, warm ones.

the cool ones today will help relieve any initial internal irriation and swelling from the injection.

once the vaccination material has started to be absorbed by your body you can then switch to warm compresses to relieve any remaining muscle tension and irritation that persists. you generally don't want to do warm compresses the first day as it can aggravate the swelling or help the vaccine try to work it's way towards the surface through the injection site.
