So about 10 days ago I had dental surgery in my mouth and they removed 2 badly impacted wisdom teeth. For some reason they cut right down the side of my mouth and had to stitch it too. The dentist told me that the stitches would dissolve after a week but they are still in and the skin is beginning to grow a bit over them and an abcess like gross thing seems to be in my jaw around one of the stitches.

I can't get back to the hospital until Friday but has anyone else had stitches that didn't come out when they were meant to? Should I pull them out myself? Should I do nothing and will it get worse if I just leave it for 2 more days? It seems like it has a bubble or something growing around one eww.

I called the dentist and she didn't know anything. Dumb fucking cunt.

Those dissolving stitches don't really dissolve that well. Trust me, I had one in my lip for like 8 months until it grew out and they could access it enough to pull it out of there. It wasn't infected or anything, just fucking gross to look at. I wouldn't recommend pulling them out, it's only been 10 days.

If it gets worse then just go to emergency. Otherwise leave them. Naughty girl

Hmm even if a huge gross lump is growing over it? It wasn't there a few days ago but since the skin started to grow over it the lump appeared.

Just dab some tea tree oil on it if you have any. It's not poisonous unless you drink 53 bottles of it. Or use some mouthwash with antibacterial.
