has anybody here had it? and can tell me what it feels like, the TYPE of pain?obviouly I googled the symptoms first, but I want exact descriptions of how it feels

it is currently 4:30 am and I have been woken up by this horrible throbbing in my thigh
the only way i can describe it is how 'growing pains' felt in my leg when I was a kid, but a million times worse.
The pain is an intense throbbing inside, it's NOT a surface pain as though I I have bumped my leg on something.

The thing is I sometimes get these pains mildly, but it has never been this bad. I have been on and off the pill over the years and I only get these pains when I'm ion the pill which I am now, but they have never developed into anything so I always carried on as normal.

But tongiht, the pain is so bad it has woken me up so I'm sat on here googling symptoms of DVT and making myself paranoid

ok so ive not had it, but i have a medical background.

the type of pain described by patients is an extremley tight feeling in the calf muscle. the muscle would be extremley painful to palpate. there could be swelling above the muscle/towards the knee. the area below the pain would be cooler and the foot/toes would usually be cold with numbness or pins and needles. squeezing the calf muscle whilst trying to point your toes towards the floor at the same time would induce the pain/symptoms. DVT is serious shit and if your concerned id go and get medical attention.

its probably nothing serious. i get bad cramps at times, i can wake up with excruiating pain in my calf muscles and the muscles hurts and feels solid for a few days later. if you smoke, then your much more likely to sufffer from cramps and restless legs at night etc
