Painkillers

i have been finding recently that all painkillers just make me feel really sick, even paracetamol which is so weak. i took one solpadeine on monday and felt really sick all day, which is weird cos i've been taking it for period pains, headaches etc for ages and it's usually fine. i recently found out that i've got gallstones which can be really painful and i need some painkillers that wont make me feel sick cos that's almost as horrible as the pain of a gallstone attack. have i fucked up my stomach from taking too many painkillers? i don't even take that much!!

It could be that the gallstones are in some way affecting your liver so you aren't processing painkillers very well. Maybe get your doctor to take blood and check for liver function. I often find I feel sick when I take paracetomal but then again I mostly take paracetomal when I have peroid pain and peroid pain makes me feel sick. Solpadeine has coedine in, and nausea is a frequent side effect of that, so I'd avoid coedine containing products. Have you tried things like ibuprofen? Make sure you avoid painkillers with caffiene in, that could be making you feel sick too.
