Gallstones

i found out a few days ago that i have gallstones and have to have my gall bladder removed at least i know what's causing the pain. i have to avoid fatty food which i kind of do anyway. i'm pretty scared of having surgery but i suppose if i dont have it, it will only get worse.
has anyone else had their gall bladder removed?
