Do you smoke?

I had a conjunctivitis and they gave me eye drops... It didn't work at all. When I stopped smoking, my conjunctivitis totally disappeared.

I restarted smoking a year ago and my conjunctivitis reappeared 6 months after. I should stop smoking

The best thing I've found is to soak a CLEAN flannel in boiled water (make sure it cools slightly though) and bath it on my eyes for about 5 mins. Then use some antibiotic drops. You can get Optrex Infected Eyes drops in chemists now without a prescription and they're pretty fast at clearing infections up.
Argh....finally someone else with blepharitis! I had it for about 3 months, went back and forth to several doctors & the eye specialist at the hospital & NO-ONE could tell me what was wrong!!

I finally decided to just go to a private eye specialist & they told me pretty much instantly what was wrong. It's been terrible through winter, it keeps flaring up all the time, hopefully seeing as it's spring here now, it'll settle down.

I haven't tried the flannel in boiling water trick...I'll keep it in mind! I use a wheat bag that I heat in the microwave and put on my eyes for a few minutes. Then I clean the lids with those lidcare wipes. I also had a really strong steroid eyedrop which helps clear all the inflammation within a day or two.

God, I wish I didn't have blepharitis, I can't really wear eye makeup anymore, it just makes me eyes go crazy! I miss my liquid eyeliner

Well mine was terrible from Nov 2004 - March 2005. I couldn't open my eyes sometimes cos they were so full of thick, sticky goo that I just couldn't get out. I was back and forth to the docs all the time and they didn't know what it was so I eventually just went to the eye casualty department in A&E and they diagnosed me. Do you have to do the whole Baby Shampoo cleaning routine with your eyes? I did it for about 6 months and it helped loooads. I havent had a bad flare up for over a year now and I can wear make-up again (only hypo allergenic stuff though). pm about it if you want!

Its okay!!
I had pinkeye before and the same thing happened to me and it went away. Just try not to touch your eye, and make sure you keep it clean.
THROW AWAY ANY MAKEUP YOU HAVE USED PRIOR TO THE INFECTION
