not much, unfortunately. i recycle, and now that they city has started collecting compost-type waste, i do that too... but i don't champion the environment like i wish i did...
i've decided that even though my new landlord can't be bothered to get the bins for recycling i'm going to do it anyways
and i'm hoping that my neighbors will take the hint and follow suit
