hair bleach help pls

my hair is currently bleached.
the roots are starting to grow out, and it's looking trashy and i want to dye it back to a colour close to my natural colour, which is medium brownish.
so i plan to buy a box oif hair dye at the pharmacy.
there isn't any reason it should go a weird colour, is there? if i put a regular box dye of my bleach (which was done at a salon) is there any chance it will go orange or have some weird reaction?

please help me, i can't have weird hair, i have job interviews next week

well, last time i dyed over my bleached hair i picked a sort of aubergine colour
it looked great for about 5 washes then started washing out at an alarming rate, despite it being 'permanant', it ended up an awful colour & i had to leave it to grow out.i ended up bleaching it again though, ha.anyways, the woman at the salon advised me that if you're dying over bleached hair, don't go for a red shade because it wont hold properly.you should be ok if you're going for a brown, but be aware that it might not turn out exactly how it should.

thanks, i'll definitely avoid reds. i wasn't planning on that colour anyway.
i don't want anything too dark or drastic anyway.

whenever ive dyed brown over bleach it kind of fades easy and you can see the bleach through the brown (and its rank) so i have to dye it twice in a month to fully make sure the bleach is covered and after that its okay.
