| | | How Do You Make Your Hair Shiny? I have a bob, and it looked so beautiful after I left the hairdressers, but since then it's just looked a bit shit. I was wondering what products people use to give their hair a shine, or products to use on bobs generally that will make me look less fug and fogey and boring? I'm in the UK but we still have tigi blah blah blah. merci. |

| | | I use a product called smoothing lusterizer when I get out of the shower, then I finish off with a shining pomade. Also, a good blow dry will make your hair look shiney. I assume it's just because it's smoother. Also, make sure you switch up and use a different shampoo once every week or two to stop buildup. |

I don't pay that much attention to the shampoo I use, I just use whatever's in the bathroom. I didn't think that the shampoo made that much difference...? I'd always been under the impression that a good quality conditioner was the most important thing.
Miss Scarlet, I was tempted by the Lush hair masks when I was in there last, but I've bought so many things like that before and they haven't had much effect. I might have a go with it now...at least you know with Lush that even if it doesn't work your hair will smell amazing.
I have long hair and use Trevor Sorbie shine serum - it comes in a teeny bottle but you don't need to use handfuls each time, so it lasts longer than you'd think. You can get all that range from Boots. |

| | | Conditioner/treatments are way more important. I just buy whatever is on sale when it comes to shampoo. Usually I use pantene and then I leave the sale stuff in my pool bag, so when I shower after I swim I use something different. It's not at all about quality - you just have to alternate because the same shampoo will cause residue/buildup after a while. |

| | | System Biolage shine mist. It's a light mist so you don't have to fully coat your hair with silicone, and it smells lovely. |

| | | I read that rinsing your hair out with black tea (err that you've allowed to go cold!) gives your hair a great shine. Been meaning to try it for years, never remember
And Superdrug do these 99p sachets. The hot oil treatment is reaaaaalllly good - really calms yer hair down
And Lush's Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo. Like someone said about Zeta-Jones, it contains beer. |

I've heard bad things about that stuff - something like it coats your hair in plastic/silicone to make it shiny? I don't know if that's exactly right. But when you stop using it, supposedly your hair will look rubbish, so you think only Pantene's any good. I don't use it because I'm scared off it by all these stories! |
