| | | hair breakage i don't know if this has already been posted, if so, sorry! but i was wondering whats the best way to treat this? i've dyed my hair for so long, and its damged and falling out. i wash it every other day, and use that pantene restoritives shampoo and conditioner. but, i need to dye it cause the roots are really growing out and it looks funny. im just scared to do so cause of the damage it can cause. any ideas? thanks! |

| | | im going through the same thing right now. you need to buy some GOOD shampoo/conditioner and do hot oil treatments and DO NOT DYE IT ANYMORE. my hair is a streaky mess of colors and i cant touch it or it will all fall out. also, get some leave in conditioner to put in your hair after washing....that will help prevent breakage too. |

| | | well for awhile i was using this stuff called Paves or something like that that was no additives in it. it smelled like essential oils and was kind of gross, but it worked ok. i just went to go get my hair chopped to see if THAT would help and they sold me on some Paul Mitchell stuff which smells awesome and works really well. i suggest possibly getting a cut too. i cut about 4 inches off my hair, which was sad but helped a TON. |

Normally they are $25 a piece. I was trying to grow out my hair too, but since i fucked it up, i had no choice. i want virgin hair again, so i had to do what i had to do. |

| | | ^^ yup, aussie is really good!
i only ever comb my hair when im condtioning it because i think brushing it alot makes it break more (i have curly hair too so it looks bizzare if i brush it anyway!)
also V05 hot oil treatments are really good too, they make a speical recontructive one
i know l'oreal have just come out with a new anti-breakage shampoo & conditoner, i havn't used them. anyone know if they're any good? |

| | | i quit dying my hair a little longer than a year ago. i just get it trimmed about every month in a half- 2 1/2 months. my hair is alot healthier now. pluse i've put down the ceramic hot iron for a while as well.
i also buy this stuff with aloe in it its made for black people's hair... i just use it on the ends though when it gets too dry. it comes in a clear bottle with a aleo plant on it. i'll post what it is later. |

| | | I bleach my hair and still looks nice only because of Joice K-Pak reconstructor. It is a miracle! You can't use it like a conditionor though.only use it every other wash and then condition after. ALso try to wash your hair every 2 or 3 days instead of everyday. Regular trims are also important. |

| | | I had to take about 3 or 4 inches off to get rid of all of the damage. I find that when my hair is long, it breaks, regardless of whether I colour it, so they key is prevention.
The best thing to do is use a high quality treatment once or twice a week (instead of conditioner). Also, if you wear your hair up, don't do it the same exact way all the time. when I get lazy and start wearing ponytails my hairdresser can tell because there will be more damage in the spot where the elastic hits. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
