home remedies for dry damaged hair?

my hair is fried from hair dye & heat damage.
i've been looking online for home remedies for dry and damaged hair, but have only been able to find a) weird **** b) homemade leave-in conditioners that include ingredients i dont have access to at the moment.

so far i keep finding some **** about "OH YEAH JUST PUT MAYO IN YOUR HAIR, AND THEN LEAVE IT THERE FOR A WHILEEEE." but i would . i'd really just have to vomit. it's just not happening.

does anyone have any ideas what i could do?
im currently broke, and sick so dont feel like leaving my house to pick up any pharm. products.

any homemade leave-in conditioners that you use, or methods you would recommend?

Seriously though I think cutting is the only remedy. I just had to get 6 inches off mine and I hate it now.

lol @ mental image of me w/ a buzzcut

but yeah, honestly i probably am gonna have to get a haircut once im done being sick.

i've heard of things like keratin treatments for the hair, and whatnot that help repair damaged hair and was hoping i could do some bootleg method of that in the meantime. but in the long-run its proably best i just start looking at potential short hairstyles keeping in mind im probably gonna have to get most of it chopped off.

trim the ends...and do a hot oil treatment using olive oil. or use a decent conditioner (like herbal essences recondition) and add some olive oil to it and let it stay in your hair for up to an hour. people always say heat helps, opening the hair shaft to let the moisture get in, and then rinse with cool water. to generate heat clean your place or if you're lazy, take a nap.

and to shampoo, avoid sulfates...in fact, if it's really damaged, just wash your hair with conditioner after thoroughly rinsing the deep treatment.
