| | | Extensions...pros vs. cons As you may have read, I asked for two inches off my hair (a very specific haircut), and ended up with four inches off and something completely different. I paid $50.00 canadian for it, as well.
This is what I asked for:
This is what I got:
(a peek at what my hair used to look like: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...gotredlips.jpg)
Pissed.
Anyhow, I can't get into it.... I've tried so hard, doing different things with it, but I can't function. Hair is important to me, obviously.
So... I was contemplating hair extensions. I don't know anyone who does them, so I'll probably end up getting them done in a salon.
Pros? Cons? Price limit? Go...

| | | I think your hair looks really pretty. If you want extensions though then get real human hair. I've not had extensions but a few of my friend's have. One of them 'malts' a lot and so has to have regular maintenance. It can be quite pricey (getting extensions in the first place is quite pricey, too -so she ends up spending an obscene amount). Also go to a good hair dresser - . If it goes right it can look natural. You can also get human hair (you can get it quite cheap off ebay) and do it yourself. |

| | | if you weren't happy, you shouldn't have paid. or at least spoken to the owner.
at any rate. someone very close to me has them. she likes them, i think they look horrible on her. and i'm not anti-extension, this is just the only person i happen to know who has them. they don't match her hair color perfectly, so they're super obvious, and anytime she puts her hair up in a pony tail, you can see where they're attached. and this was an EXPENSIVE undertaking. not some cheap crap she got put in. so it's certainly tainted my view of extensions, if they all look like this.
just my 2 cents ont he subject, so you can make an informed decision. |

| | | normally they look really noticeable if your hair is short and its not layered
but my friend put some in herself and i didnt even notice! they were only £20, realy human hair though and they look very good
your hair doesnt look a different length different to hers yours just looks thinner and not curled inwards . . . .
have you tried to style it like hers? with tongs and things?
i normally hate really short hair but hers makes her look like a VERY cute little pixi girl with a MASSIVE head |

| | | ok my suggestions:
find someone to braid them instead of gluing them, it is less of a hassle to take out(the glue will stay in days later) and it unglues very easily also I find the braided ones look better...I've had both and I'm just talking from experience it feels more full.
If you glue them use baby oil to remove the glue once you take them out
Basically you can go in a wees shop and get a similar color to yours. it's not too expensive about 30-40 bucks and you can always reuse it after. Just make sure you take good care of it. If you have a friend hairstylist it would be your best bet for getting it done for cheap or even a black person that can braid would be better in terms of the money than a hairdresser, they overcharge for extentions. It takes less than an hour to put in and it costs 300-400 bucks... |

| | i have the ones from sally's in right now. i tried glueing them in first, but they didn't stay in very long.
now i have the clips that you sew into the extension and clip into your hair. best purchase i have ever made. i unclip them at night, then put them back on in the morning.
here's a before pic
and after
go to sally, the people there will help you match your color as well. i think the extensions were only $9.99, then the clips were $1.99 |

| | they have them at sally in the hair extension isle. they have small holes in them that you use to sew onto your extension. after you sew them, you just have to part your hair and clip them in. it takes me 5 minutes to put them in in the morning and i'm out the door. <3 it. |

| | well its just a question of months before you get your old hair lenght back... i think its really pretty anyway.
extensions are everywhere, i'm not sure if i like it. i had some for one day and it was seriously getting on my nerves because i had the ones you glue on.. (i guess the cheapest ones) and it's not cool because i always feared about what if one extension don't stay well glued... and it's very easy to get off, you have to be very carefull when brushing your hair and all ... | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
