eyeliner

I really don't know how to use eyeliner without ending up looking like Gerard Way. I'm quite fair haired and pale and I don't wear all that much makeup during the day, foundation, mascara and lipgloss mostly. I've tried pencils and liquid liner but it all just looks rubbish, anyone got eyeliner tips? And reccomendations of some good eyeliners?

I prefer liquid eyeliner, because it seems to stay on better? I use this Avon shit with little tiny sparklies in it that you can't really see.

As for application, I kind that everyone has their own way of doing it.

I think its just practice with eye liner. Im ok with it now..sometimes I put it on too thickly. I would love not to wear eye liner and go with heavier lip stick but I just dont suit it..

I did buy mac's gel eye liner the other week however I havent used it yet...

Alexa Chung does good eyeliner....I'm sure there's some google pics.

if you're fair, I'd say try only lining the top lid? It looks less heavy for daytime, Use a sharp pencil, preferably liquid...subtle is the key I suspect.
