| | | New weird warning on hair dye boxes
i found a new brand of cruelty free hair dyes at Home Bargains a few weeks ago & there was a warning saying if you've had henna tattoos or tattoos you might've become allergic to the dye. i thought, fuck that, so went for my regular dye.
anyhow, a friend has bought a L'Oreal (hisss) dye & on the box it says:
BLACK HENNA TATTOOS: if youve had black henna tattoos, even a long time ago, you could have become allergic to this product without knowing.
how does black henna make you allergic to chemical dyes? |

BIZARRE.
Most hair colours have one of those "Do not use if you've got Compound Henna Product on your hair" or something like that.
But tattoos? That's just strange. I'd be tempted to call the "Information/Help line" # on your regular hair dye instructions , just to see what they know about this craziness.

| | | idk why there aren't warnings on all permanent hair color, that you should do a patch test on your inner elbow 24 hours before using, as anyone can develop an allergy, even after using the same product.
my mom was allergic to hair color, her whole face got horribly puffed up & it was painful, as well as looking hideous. |

then i get all paranoid when i use it, like, OMG I FEEL ITCHY!!! MY EYES ARE STINGING!!! I CAN'T BREATHE!!! so i'm going to start doing a skin patch test first.
every hairdresser i've been to NEVER bother with allergy test. how do they get away with that? |

| | ohhhhhh, i get it now. if you've had a black henna tat & it went manky then you'll probably be allergic to the hair dye cos it contains the same chemical as the crappy henna they use. i seeeeee.
i found more of the ones that fucked up eek
