| | | Please recommend me a good foundation What is the best foundation for oily/greasy skin?
I find halfway through the day I get quite shiny and need a good quality matte foundation. I'm a make up artist for Benefit and none of their bases are good for me as they are too moisturising and leave a dewy glow which I don't need as it just makes my make up slide off even more.
Any reccommendations? |

| | | It's so annoying right?!
Like first thing in the morning my make up is flawless and a few hours later it's a big ole' mess!
I heard MAC Studio Fix fluid has a good matte finish and is quite long wearing so I might give that a whirl, but I want to hear some direct honest feedback from KR users first.
Mattifying gels and primers have never worked for me either so I'm feeling very skeptical right now!
Sometimes I wonder if there's literally nothing I can do about it. |

| | | I would reccomend Dermalogicas mattifying gel. I use it under Benefits you rebel (which I find makes me look very oily and shiny), and it works a treat. |

| | | Can you buy mattifying gel at most drug stores? I've never even heard of this stuff before.

| | | Mineral Foundations are generally water- and -sweat proof and you can perk your makeup up/mattify by splashing or spraying your face with water then blotting with tissue.
Lily Lolo foundations are especially good for this, they also do two mattifying powders. |

So why is the studio fix compact better than the liquid? | i used to use the liquid but i had to wear a powder (i used manic panic vampyres veil ) over the top of it to get that really matte, non-greasy finish to it. same with the stick foundation. they were both really good in terms of coverage but the compact is equally fabulous and i don't need to wear a powder with it at all. it is a matte, powdery finish all on its own + the fucking amazing coverage.

| | | Cool, thanks for the tip. I've decided to buy both and see what happens!
Plus I want to feast my eyes on the cult of cherry collection, so I'm gonna have a field day in there!
I might also pick up a really bright pink statement lippy!

| | Everyday Minerals. It's mineral foundation (they have eyeshadow and blush and all kinds of other stuff too), but it doesn't have bismuth like Bare Minerals does (it can irritate some ppl's skin). It's reasonably priced, it makes your skin look amazing, and it stays on pretty well, and since it's a powder, it'll probably be good for your oily skin. Ppl think that cos it's a powder it'll make their face look dry, but it's not like that, besides, EM has different formulas - Original Glo, which makes your face look more dewy, which I use, and then a couple others, one of which is meant to be matte. The best thing about it is they send out samples for free, you just have to pay for shipping, which is like five or six bucks if you live in the US (They do ship worldwide as far as I know, but it's a little bit more). You can choose a few different foundation formulas and shades, plus a concealer and a blush, and they'll send you the samples for you to try. They're a small company and really good with customer service - if the samples they sent, none of them match you, you can order another set of samples, again just paying shipping, til you find your right match. I found my match right off the bat, I was lucky. I'm very fair, and I usually use a yellow-toned foundation as opposed to a pink one, and my shade is Fairly Light, in the Original Glo formula (which doesn't look dry at all, it's lovely).
I took a break from mineral foundation but I'm getting back into it now - it really does make your skin look amazing. It takes a few days to learn how to apply it, but once you get used to it it's really easy. Another good thing is there's no harsh line of demarcation between your face and your neck. Everyday Minerals
