ARGHH.. breakout!

I've always had really really good skin and recently i've really broken out in horrible spots on my cheeks and side of my face! I've never ever had spots in my life so im kinda freaked out.
I've bought cliniques 3 step anti blemish kit but was wondering what kind of foundation is good for covering spots and how you deal with covering them. I usually uise mac foundation/concealer but it's not really doing the trick.. any ideas?

Just purchased Clinique's Moisturizer for Men aftershave lotion. It's a godsend for dry skin.

don't put ANYTHING on yr face with oil in it.

check the clinique stuff, check your moisturizer, check yr foundation/concealer. it may say, "won't cause breakouts!" but sometimes they still have oil in them and therefore probably WILL cause breakouts. so read the ingredients. especially if you bought anything new recently. it probably has a shitload of oils in it.

i use olay complete moisturizer:

cg fresh complexion concealer:

and bare minerals foundation, blush, & mineral veil.

you should also try to drink as much water as you can, and stay away from food that's bad for you. some people say it's a myth that eating bad food will cause breakouts, but i think it's more like, if you eat a piece of the general's original recipe chicken and then touch yr face. badbadbad. oil is on yr hands/lips/maybe face if you're sloppy?

Totally agree with eating the right food stuff thing. Whenever I eat crisps (potato chips) I break out severely. It is the oils in the crisps that cause it. Fried food also, is not exactly good for my skin either.

That said, the Clinique moisturizer not only sorted out my dry flaky skin but also helped with the redness within hours of applying a generous amount around the cheeks and nose area. Now my skin is less irritated and ruddy, with much better complexion. Soft too - but I always had soft skin!

that's not true. it's mineral oil that's bad for your skin. essential oils & olive oil can actually be good for you skin.

which mac are you using? the studio fix is known to make people break out.

Yeah i use studio fix but also have the select one which doesn't really help cover the spots. I've come to the conclusion their foundation is cack anyway!!

I use olays beauty fluid which i think is fine.

The thing is I don't even have oily skin, it's just normal.

Don't use foundation while you have breakouts, it'll just smother them.

Exactly. I have sensitive skin and I get break-outs, and all these acne fighting products mostly just irritate my skin and make it worse. My saviour? LINEN SEED OIL. I just rub it on my face (yes it does feel all greasy) and then mix some Lush Ocean Salt with it to wash it off. My skin looks a bit shiny afterwards but oh how soft it becomes, also the oilyness of my skin has reduced so make up stays on better. Just because you get break-outs doesnt mean your skin doesnt need moisturizing oils. Be careful with the products, harsh stuff just makes it worse. Try some DIY facials!

please please please do not use that Clinique stuff. It is crap and way too harsh and will never get your skin back to the way it was. Trust me on this (or look it up on makeupalley).

I suggest Clarins products, Dr Hauschka, Louis Widmer or Avene. I have a lot of experience with anti-acne products so I do know what is good and what isn't. You need to use mild products. Drying out your skin will only aggravate the acne.

If you can you should go see a dermatologists if your breakout is that bad.

And well, drinking water is good for you and eating healthy is as well. But I've been drinking only water (at least 2 litres per day) for several months now and still have acne; so it's not like a lack of water causes acne.

The clinique 3 step thing is AMAZING! My skin is looking better than ever now (without makeup!) My spots have nearly all cleared up too!
