| | | I'm honestly not sure if my water is hard or soft.
I'm rural, so maybe it's soft. |

| | | it's important to vigorously massage the scalp during washing.
i have really long hair, and don't wash it in the shower
.
i brush it out really well before washing - once.
while shampooing, i really massage my scalp.
i learned in beauty school, the importance of a scientific brushing.
you take sections of hair and brush well to loosen dirt and oil. |

I took this advice from the indian ladies at work who all had long luscious hair and mine is always better when I do the almond oil thing.

The people who advocate this claim there are "harmful chemicals" in shampoo, but I have a feeling that's a huge exaggeration. Unless you use a no-name, funky smelling shampoo made in chernobyl it's probably ok.
I'm sure the amount of sulphates in ordinary supermarket shampoos is a bit high, but switching to something from the pharmacy/health food shop/hairdresser would probably do the trick. |

| | | I think some of those no shampoo people wash with conditioner instead, cause there are still emulsifiers in conditioner so it lathers a tiny bit. Well oil lifts grease on the skin, so I guess.
I tried washing with conditioner once but it didn't make much difference and I like to feel a deep clean on my scalp, even if it's not any cleaner afterwards, it's sort of reassuring!
I do always try to brush it before washing though. I use solid shampoo so dry lather wouldn't really work. |

| | | I've alway's been told to never brush your hair while wet... However I believe if it was gunna break while wet, then it doesn't deserve to be on my scalp.

| | | I tried only washing my hair with conditioner and no shampoo for a week and a half once.
For the first few days it seemed really good but then it just stopped feeling right and it got to where even when it was soaked it still had a lot of frizzies. Like it could never get properly wet. So I went back to my regular routine except I buy better shampoos so my skin doesn't react. |

| | | I've found any kind of washing up liquid is good to use once a week... But instead I've heard changing your shampoo regular keep's the shampoo residue out, but stick with the same conditioner. I alway's use panten-pro and I'll never use anything again.. And has anyone had teh problem of dandruff only with certain conditioner's?

| | | if you guys don't do it already, it's a really good idea to change shampoo companies every three months or so so that your hair doesn't become immune to one company. Using just conditioner is a bad idea. I do it sometimes when I have to take an extremely quick shower but my hair still always feels gross. |

| | | I wash my hair every 2, maybe 3 days. My hair is dry.
I've read a lot about the no-poo thing, but I cannot be without any shampoo. I use only a little bit though, and not any harsh kind.
Yes, burshing when your hair is dry is essential! I only comb my hair though, brushes don't touch it. I comb before showering and then I comb it through again while the conditioner is on it.
The bes thing is also coconut oil! soooooo good for your hair. Just put loads on and leave in for several hours.
After 2 or 3 times your hair will be beautiful! |

It sounds weird but when you do it you can physically FEEL the dirt dislodging itself from the scalp. You then add the water, rinse and repeat. The advantage to this method is that when dry, you don't tend to yank on the hair so much as you feel the grit loosening itself.
It sounds weird but since doing it my hair has been in impeccable condition! |
is anyone else wondering how champers gets so dirty? bricklayer? |
