I like that style it's cute.
I personally would just add a couple of long wefted clip on pieces underneath my natural hair to add the length for making the pony tail and then wrapping extra hair over the top of it.
Most people would probably choose an entire pony tail piece though which is basically just an add on already made up into a big bunch.
This would be easier but to me it looks a bit dated.

those pony tail bunches are great, but you have to have the exact same hair colour as the one you get. With normal clip in strands, as long as they are similar to the tip of your hair, it's fine - your hair has lots of various colours / tones in it, even if you bleach it. However, the pony tail peices are obviously attached to your hair but not undernieth, so if the colour is even the slightest bit different, a person will notice.

trust me. i tried to convince some customers and they wouldnt take my advice - then i saw one of them walk past me once and it really did look terrible.

Yeah they should do. They should have the clips already attached to save you the hassle and should be human hair rather than synthetic.
Usually you're able to take them out of the packet and see if they match your hair.
